Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 August 2026 · Effective date: 14 August 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of the Kardi App mobile application and related services at api.kardi.website (together, the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Statutory publisher information (mentions légales) is also at https://kardi.website/legal. Privacy: https://kardi.website/privacy.
These Terms are a working contract for store review and in-app disclosure. They are not a substitute for independent legal advice.
1. Publisher
The App is published by:
- Legal name: Amuseemus
- Legal form: SAS (Société par Actions Simplifiée)
- Registered office: 32 Allée de la Robertsau, 67000 Strasbourg, France
- Registration number (SIRET): 100 328 616 00014
- Support: dev@amuseemus.com
(hereinafter "we", "our", "Amuseemus").
2. The service
Kardi App is a flashcard tool for learning foreign vocabulary (decks, review sessions, optional AI-assisted card generation, and sync when you are signed in). The App is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play under the bundle / package id app.kardi.
We offer two plans:
- Free — core study features with usage limits (for example daily AI generations, number of custom or preset decks, cards per deck, and study languages). Current limits are shown in the App and may change as described in section 5.
- Kardi Pro — a paid auto-renewing subscription that removes those limits (unlimited generations, decks, cards, and study languages, unless we state otherwise in the App).
3. Account
Some features require an account (email and password, or Sign in with Google / Apple). You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
You may delete your account in Settings or by following https://kardi.website/delete-account. Deleting the Kardi account does not cancel a store subscription (see section 7).
4. Kardi Pro subscription
4.1 How you pay
Kardi Pro is sold only as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google (as applicable) is the merchant of record for the payment. We do not collect or store your card number. We receive subscription status (active or not, product, expiry) via RevenueCat in order to unlock Pro in the App.
Prices shown in the App come from the store on your device (including applicable taxes in the EU). They may differ by country. The reference list prices we configure are:
- Monthly: €4.99 per month, auto-renewing
- Annual: €29.99 per year, auto-renewing, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers when the store offers it
If you start a trial, you will be charged the annual price at the end of the 7 days unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends (or whatever deadline the store displays).
4.2 Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple or Google account subscription settings.
4.3 What Pro unlocks
While Pro is active, the App treats you as a Pro user and does not apply the Free caps listed in the paywall. We may add or adjust included features; we will not remove the core study service you already paid for during an active paid period without a reasonable alternative.
5. Limits on the Free plan
Free limits are business rules we operate on our servers. We may change them. The App shows the current numbers. Changing a limit does not require an App update. If a limit is lowered, it applies on the next server check; we do not owe a refund solely because a Free cap changed.
6. Right of withdrawal (EU / France)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason (Consumer Rights Directive; French Code de la consommation).
Because Apple or Google collects the payment, you exercise withdrawal or request a refund through that store (for example Apple Report a Problem, or Google Play refund / subscription settings), not by sending us your card details. We cannot issue an App Store refund ourselves. We will honour a store refund or cancellation by removing Pro access when the store tells us the subscription has ended.
If you asked to start using Pro immediately during the withdrawal period, a store may deduct an amount proportional to the period already used, in line with applicable law and the store's rules. For some digital content, withdrawal can be lost only after your explicit consent to immediate performance and your acknowledgement that you lose the right — we do not rely on a pre-ticked box for that.
After the 14-day period, you may still cancel auto-renewal at any time (section 7). That stops future charges; it does not always refund the current period.
7. Cancellation and refunds
- Cancel renewal: Apple Settings → Subscriptions, or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Access continues until the end of the paid (or trial) period.
- Refund: request it from Apple or Google. We do not process card refunds.
- Delete Kardi account: this removes your profile and learning data on our side. It does not stop store billing. Cancel the subscription in the store first (or afterwards) if you do not want further charges.
8. Your content and acceptable use
You keep the rights in the cards and decks you create. You grant us a licence to host, sync, and display that content as needed to operate the App. You must not use the App to break the law, abuse the generation features, attack our systems, or infringe others' rights. We may suspend an account that does.
9. Availability and liability
We aim to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The App is provided as a language-learning aid, not as professional translation or academic certification.
To the extent permitted by mandatory consumer law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under French or EU law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
10. Privacy
Personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. If we share usage information with Apple to help decide a refund request, we do so only as needed for that purpose and as described there.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. The current version is always at https://kardi.website/terms and, when linked, in the App. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email when appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where mandatory law requires your explicit consent.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of France. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live. You may bring a claim before the courts of your place of residence or of our registered office. EU consumers may use the European Commission's ODR platform.
